On the 4th of July this year, I played music for a friend’s wedding so nearly missed all of the celebrations with my family.  So right when I got home, I grabbed a couple ladders on got up on the roof of my parent’s house and snapped a few fun little long exposure shots.  

After messing around a little bit with them, I started examining them a little bit closer and started noticing how the light from the fireworks almost literally painted the light in the photo. 

The first photo : 6 second exposure at f / 2.8 at 11mm, 320 ISO

The second photo is just the 1st image at 100%.  Notice how it almost looks like a painting.

In other news, my macbook died so I’ve been working and have purchased a new one.  So in a very short time I will be adding a bunch of new photos to www.aphorstphoto.com
