Here’s footage from This Providence’s trip to a children’s hospital with Musicians On Call during The Dino Initiative Tour with Motion City Soundtrack, Set Your Goals and The Swellers!

wide-awake
I am hardly talking
I didn’t have a lot to say
if this is really love
or the reflection
on and on
give up everything
leave with out it
we are not coming back now
in my mind we are all one
floating in a world, misunderstood
i heard the voice of God
in the reflection
on and on
give up everything
leave without it
we are not coming back now

ThisProv is hosting the Super Bowl XLV! We got to get in a little practice this year, so be prepared for next year! What do you think?
Some of the SJC boys came down to the show the other night. Great dudes, and a great company. If you are a drummer, you have to check out these drums. One drummer at a time they are taking over the world. Actually, I’m pretty sure you want to start playing drums just so you can play these things! Make some noise!
from Andy Horst of This Providence:
There’s been a lot going on the past few days. New York City is insane, and we always cram such much stuff into the limited hours we get to spend there. It was only 2 days ago that we had a day off, and it already feels like it’s been a week since then. But nonetheless, I truly enjoy our time in the city.
Yesterday we had a really amazing opportunity to work with an awesome organization called Musicians on Call. We got to go into The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx and go room to room to play some of our songs on acoustics for people. It was kind of surreal at first because people would just kinda stare at you, probably not quite sure why there was some pretty white boys standing in the hospital room. But then when Dan would start singing, the entire presence of the room would change. It was like you literally watch people forget about their pain and circumstances for just even a few minutes. There were some absolutely beautiful smiles that came out. It was truly awesome.
Music is such a powerful thing and yesterday was a reminder of why we do what we do. We love music. We love the power it has to give people hope. When we are in New York we are overwhelmed with the business side of things. The music industry is a crazy thing to be a part of. But when you strip all that away, it all comes back to the music. We are a really fortunate band in that we get to work with a lot of people who actually love music.
And to those who couldn’t make into the show last night and hung outside in the cold all night. Thanks for still coming out to the show and saying hi! That really means a lot to us. You guys are so sweet.
Until next time,
~Andy
